and we had a beautiful seaside cake that his Mom made and Shay was the serving girl in her grass skirt. We love you buddy. Your sure getting to be a big boy. And Shay, I don't know what happened to your hands?! They disappeared!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOE.............

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A GREAT SON-IN-LAW

COURAGE......

Check out my Blog List. I have an additon. "NieNie". This is the blog of the lady from St. Johns AZ who was in the airplane crash and was burned over 80% of her body. She is amazing. The way she writes just fills you with her spirit. Apparently her following of her blog was world wide before the accident and has multiplied many times since. Just check it out.

PMS.....

Q: How many women with PMS does it take to change a light bulb? Woman's Answer: One! ONLY ONE!!!! And do you know WHY? Because no one else in this house knows HOW to change a light bulb! They don't even know that the bulb is BURNED OUT!! They would sit in the dark for THREE DAYS before they figured it out. And, once they figured it out, they wouldn't be able to find the light bulbs despite the fact that they've been in the SAME CABINET for the past 17 YEARS! But if they did, by some miracle of God, actually find them, 2 DAYS LATER, the chair they dragged to stand on to change the STUPID light bulb would STILL BE IN THE SAME SPOT!!!!! AND UNDERNEATH IT WOULD BE THE WRAPPER THE LIGHT BULBS CAME IN!!! BECAUSE NO ONE EVER PICKS UP OR CARRIES OUT THE GARBAGE!!!! IT'S A WONDER WE HAVEN'T ALL SUFFOCATED FROM THE PILES OF GARBAGE THAT ARE A FOOT DEEP THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HOUSE!! IT WOULD TAKE AN ARMY TO CLEAN THIS PLACE! AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON WHO CHANGES THE TOILET PAPER ROLL !! I'm sorry. What was the question?

ARIZONA........

We had so much fun visiting with our AZ kids.
Chris and Wylene made us fresh O J for us to
drink.

Then, we decided to go pick a bunch of the navels, to
bring home with us. Some were very huge, Courtney
was a big help.

There were so many the Chris and Wylene
couldn't decide where to pick.

Jim with a load and a half, we picked 5 boxes.
Gentry helping Chris load them into our own box.
Note the people's home in background, part of it is
underground.

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS BRENNON?

While we were out shopping Courtney and I decided
that we didn't like the look of these boxy cars. Then
when we went to get the oranges, there was one, so I
had to take her picture by it.

They took us to "Ocean Blue" which is a frozen Yogurt
place. You get to fill your own cup, with a zillion picks
of flavors, and toppings. They gave us these weird spoons,
at Brennon's request. They are made out of potatos.
(so they are bio-degradable) They really are eatable, but
you would have to be pretty hungry to eat one. Some of
us tried, but ...........Ya! We didn't get very far.

One night we played Phase 10. Jim and Wylene have an
on going duel. But this time, Chris whipped us all. Gentry
got the giggles, and had us all laughing. Brennon left us
in the middle of the game to go to a church dance. He is
growing up!

Courtney and Gentry playing Guitar Hero. Boy can
they play. They tried to get Papa to play, but he did
his own thing in the background!

Thanks for the good company!
Brennon, we are proud of you for getting ordained a Priest!
Glad we could be there for it.

Hoover Dam......

Of course, Jim had to have some pictures of the new bridge
they are building at Hoover Dam. We have been watching it
progress the last few trips we have made.

Jim is anxious for it to be finished so we can drive
on it. As I looked up to take this picture, I think I
can wait. It is so high. And of course with my paranoia
I think," what if there was an earthquake while we were
crossing it". I know, I am nuts, but I come by it naturally,
My Mom and her Dad were worriers also.

Day Care......

On our way to AZ we spent the night with Erick and Karen and family.
The next morning when we got up to go, Karen's little group of day care
kids came. These are just 4 of them. They were so cute, but not sure
what to make of Jim and I. We were intruding on their space . When
we came back from AZ we spent the night again. They were a little more
friendly the next morning. Karen has lots of patience and is a very good
person for day care.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY..........

A happy Birthday shout out to Brennon James.
He turned 16 today, and altho we can't be with
him today to celebrate, we are going down to
Gilbert to see him this weekend so Grandpa
can be there to help confirm him a Priest.
We love you Brennon, and hope you had a great
day. Can't wait to see you all!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY..........98years!

Sunday was my Aunt Deniece's 98th birthday, and her family threw her a big
party. I was so excited to go wish her well, as I have been wanting to go see her for a long time and just never got there. I was also wanting to see Pat, my cousin. There are just 5 of us cousin's on my Dad's side left and we have become pretty close over the internet, so it was a fun day. Cottonwood Creek is a very nice place, where she is living. This is a picture of Pat and I with the birthday girl.( that darn flash, got my eye's shut) The bottom one is of all of us singing Happy Birthday, with Pat and her little Isabel (granddaughter) in the center. Matt, Pat's son, is standing next to Aunti. Note: Aunti's peace sign she is giving.

I am now a WOLVERINE.........

Saturday, Jim and I went down to UVU to unload his books and stuff in his new office. We dusted and put away some of them, but he will have to fix the bookcase before we can do it all. Today is his first day on the job. I asked him if he was nervous, but he said " No, just anxious to get in the groove." He had taught a little before, but this will be a new full time experience. I am so proud of him, He is not afraid to try
anything. I have a lot to learn from him (you'd think after 46 years, I would have already done that). Good Luck Jim, give them what for!!!!!!

Sharing time.....

Friday, Todd and Danelle needed a day out, (they actually
went to the temple and out to eat) so we kept Shay and Colt.
We had fun, playing on the computer, watching Disney Channel,
eating, then Papa took Colt outside to fly a kite they made, and
Colt ended up planting a forest in our snow out front. Then we
had to try out our new fire pit. If felt good, because it was so darn'
cold out there. After we all smelled of smoke, Shay and I came in
to a nice warm cup of Hot Chocolate. Those boys just wouldn't
give in.

WELCOME 2009....

Here is Jim, Sydney, Sadie, and Stetson "rockin" in 2009. He was teaching them the Jitterbug. We went to the movie " Bedtime Stories" and then came home to play games.
Most everyone just veged out, but Shani and I got in a game of Yahtzee and Scrabble. But we certainly had plenty to eat on the table. Here's hoping this new year will be good for everyone.
