Reunion Time

We had our family reunion the 18, 19, and 20 of July. Matt and Shani were in charge this year, and we had it at Old Folks Flat in Huntington Canyon. We got there Fri. and after we set up camp had a nice lunch and a special treat from Erick and Karen. They had crushed a cooler full of ice and we had snowcones.
Wow, did that hit the spot on a hot day. We played a little horse shoes, and just visited. It was so warm during the day, but that night some of us nearly froze.
The next day, we had so much fun. They had picked an Olympic theme to go along with the summer Olympics this year, and first, we had a Obstacle Course, then a Disk throw, then a Tug of war, finishing up with a Sponge Relay. We laughed so hard, and everyone was such good sports. We had the usual bottles filled with candy, to guess how many pieces were in each . Gummy bears, Swedish Fish, and Bubble Gum filled the bottles, and the tummies of the winners. We ate lots of good meals, provided by each family, and had fun around the campfire, singing and doing skits, and of course roasting marshmellows. That night we did our regular drawing that the kids enjoy so much.Jace won the beautiful quilt that Wylene made from the blocks we did last year. We had a little cloud cover that night and it wasn't as cold, so we all slept better.
Sunday we put out a Geocache, like we do each year. And after our lunch we had our annual Interview by Grandpa to see what each one has done during the year. We were sad at the end as He reminded us to go see Grandma Dessia because she was not doing good. How glad we are that we did, as the next night she slipped away. Thanks Matt and Shani, and all those that participated and made so many memories for us.

Our Family Reunion

IN MEMORY OF.......

Saturday we gathered as a family to celebrate the life of
Grandma Dessia Cox. We are thankful that she was spared a long
illness with lots of suffering. She lived 85
great years and was very proud of her posterity. I am very
thankful for her greatest gift to me, my Sweeti Jim.
She has now joined her sweetheart Grandpa Allen and
all the others who have gone before. We are thankful to know
the Plan of Salvation and that we will all be together again some
day. We Love You!

A day at the Zoo......

I took Brennon and Stetson to the zoo, not the real zoo, but the Kangaroo Zoo.
As you can tell from the pictures, they ran and slid so fast I could not catch them when they were standing still. I think they had fun, they hardly stopped moving for 2 hours. I read my Utah Valley Mag. and people watched. I enjoy that, I think I got that from my Dad and Mom. We used to go sit on main street in our car, at night and watch people, and Dad would talk to some of his friends. That was one of our favorite pass times. You had to look for things to do in those days, as money was tight. I enjoy guessing things about the people I watch and wonder what they are really like.

Where is Kylee?

Kylee was upstairs asleep, but she finally came down
to visit, and "eat" chips, here is one for you Grandma.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Jim had picked up some ties for Kasey's wedding in August, so

when Ericks family came up to get the truck , we met them at

Tricia and Joe's. While we visited the kid played games. Here Kurtis,

Kimber , Kyle, Brennon, and McKinley were playing "Curses".They

laughed so hard I thought they would cry. I am glad they get along

and enjoy each others company.

LIKE THE EVEREADY BUNNY......

This truck just keeps going and going and going. It was Danelle's first auto, then when she gave it up Jim drove it to work for a few years, then He sold it to Jace for $1. Yesterday, Jace sold it to Kyle for $1, after a new engine and a few
accidents. It is like a member of the family.

Late Happy Birthday

Due to a busy summer schedule, McKinley's birthday was put on hold. To make up for it, she got a new puppy. Meet little Mac.

Reunion Time

How time flies. Joe, Karen, and Erick had their 25th class reunion in Fillmore this weekend. Was nice to see some "old" friends and remember the good ole times.

Swimming to be Cool

Thursday we tried all kinds of things to cool off. Tricia, McKinley,Kylee and 2 of her friends met Danelle, Todd, Shay, Colt, Brennon and I at Seven Peaks to see if that would do the trick. I really think the kids and Todd had fun, we girls just sat under the umbrella and gabbed and people watched. And DARN, I forgot my camera. But since it was booked at 5:30 for a private party, we were scooted out. Just as we got to the car to head home, Matt called to invite Brennon to come swimming out to Saratoga Springs. I figured he was wore out, but when I ask, he said"Sure". So we headed home to eat some dinner and get Papa. After we had eaten ,off we went. I told Brennon, " I guess you know that Saratoga Springs was where your Dad (Chris) wanted to go for his 8th birthday." Of course it has changed a lot. No more merry go round , or bumper cars, just a lot of homes around the swimming pool. Anyway, they had fun and swam until it started to get dark , as you can see from the following slide show. Thanks Matt and Shani for having us out. Papa and Gramy just sat and watched and took pictures, but it was fun. Thanks to Tricia also, for inviting us to join them at Seven Peaks, and for getting us cheaper tickets at Macy's. Let's get together again soon.
